For over 25 years, I’ve been running Opus, a blog devoted to highlighting the good, beautiful, and noteworthy in pop culture, which includes indie/underground music and movies, anime and manga, and even online trends. (I occasionally write about technology, web development, religion, and politics, as well.)

I’ve written thousands of posts, hundreds of reviews, and conducted numerous interviews — all to spotlight artists, creators, and cultural trends that deserve more attention than they might get otherwise.

So what’s this newsletter all about? First off, it’s not replacing my website. Rather, it’s a supplement and more importantly, a way for me to reward subscribers.

Subscriptions are $5/month and $50/year. I’ll be posting some content here that’s freely available to everyone. However, paying subscribers will get access to bonus content, including Spotify playlists, podcast episodes, and early access to special Opus features — and it’ll all arrive conveniently in your email inbox.

If reading Opus has ever helped you find a new favorite band, album, movie, etc., then consider becoming becoming a paid subscriber today. Your support helps offset the costs of hosting, maintaining, and promoting Opus and ensures its ongoing existence.

If you’re new to Opus, then welcome. To give you an idea of what I’ve been up to for the last 20+ years, check out some of my “greatest hits” — and if you like what you see, consider subscribing. If you can’t subscribe right now, you can also make a one-time payment to help support my writing.

And if you can’t subscribe right now, that’s OK. Thanks for reading, and please share some of your favorite Opus articles with your friends.
