For over 20 years, I’ve been running Opus, a blog devoted to highlighting the good, beautiful, and noteworthy in pop culture, including indie/underground music and movies, anime and manga, and even online trends. (I write about technology, web development, religion, and politics, too.)

I’ve written thousands of posts, hundreds of reviews, and conducted numerous interviews — all to spotlight artists, creators, and cultural trends that deserve more attention than they might get otherwise.

So what’s this newsletter all about? First off, it’s not a replacement for Opus, but rather, a supplement and a way for me to reward subscribers. I’ll be posting subscribers-only content here on a regular basis, including playlists, sneak previews and exclusive posts, and maybe even the occasional podcast — and it’ll all arrive conveniently in your email inbox. (You can also read it here, too.)

If reading Opus has ever helped you find a new favorite band, album, movie, etc., then consider becoming becoming a subscriber today. Your support helps offset the costs of hosting, maintaining, and promoting Opus and ensures its ongoing existence.

If you’re new to Opus, then welcome. To give you an idea what I’ve been about for the last 20+ years, check out some of my “greatest hits” — and if you like what you see, consider subscribing. If you can’t subscribe right now, you can also make a one-time payment to help support my writing.

And if you can’t make any sort of financial contribution right now, that’s OK. Thanks for reading, and consider sharing some of your favorite Opus articles with your friends.
